ICAI is Planning to Go Global with its New CMA Course

ICAI Planning CMA Course

Previously known as The Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) is a premier statutory professional accountancy body in India.

It was formed 61 years ago with the objects of regulating, promoting, and developing the profession of Cost & Management Accountancy. It is the largest CMA body in Asia and 2nd largest in the world. It has over 5 lakh students on roll and 85,000 qualified CMAs. ICAI regulates the Cost and management accountancy (CMA) profession in the country and now it is going global.

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has come up with the world-class ‘employability & techno-skill development training program’ in its CMA curriculum for intermediate students and made it mandatory from the August batch onwards. It is coupled with the online exam facility for students and with these two new steps, ICAI is going global.

CMA Balwinder Singh, president of ICAI, on August 8, 2020, said that “Students pursuing the CMA course should possess robust employability skills to become future-ready professionals,” while attending an e-career awareness program organized in association with Calcutta University.

He further added that We are launching SAP Finance Power User Course, Microsoft Certification, Cambridge University Certification, and E-filing as a bouquet of World Class Employability and Techno-Skill Training facilities for intermediate students from August batch onwards. This step, coupled with online exam facility for students (from home/center-specific), I believe takes ICAI global.
