ICWAI: CEP Credit Hours Time Extended for Renewing COP

The time period for the CEP Credit Hours has been extended by the ICWAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) for renewing the COP (Certificate of Practice) for 2019-20.

According to the guidelines for Compulsory Training for every Member hailing from Institute under Continuing Education Programme, the members who are having the COP (Certificate of Practice) must mandatorily take the 15 hours per year training which is started from 1st April 2019 and will end on 31st March 2020 as well as 50 hours of block of three years. On the other hand, the members who are above 65 years age must take 7 hours per year training and 25 hours in a block of 3 years.

What Will Happen If The COP is Not Renewed?

If the member’s COP is not renewed due to a decrease in CEP hours for 2019-20, then it can be difficult for those members who pay special attention to the fact that despite that CEP hours Compliance is mandatory for renewal of minimum requirement of the COP (Certificate of Practice).

The Institute said in a statement “In view of the above, it has been decided by the Council of the Institute to grant an extension up to 31st July 2019 to complete the requirement of CEP credit hours for renewal of COP of the members for the year 2019-20. However, for the CEP hours earned during the period 1st April 2019 to 31st July 2019, members are required to inform whether these CEP hours are to be accounted for the year 2018-19 or for the year 2019-20”.
