In India, the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (Advanced ICITSS) is a compulsory course for all Chartered Accountant (CA) students. It is a 30-day course that is divided into two parts: Advanced Information Technology (Advanced IT) and Management and Communication Skills (MCS).

The Advanced IT exam is a computer-based test that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts. The exam is of two hours and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions.

It is clarified that students who have undergone only one, i.e. either GMCS/GMCS-II/MCS or Advanced ITT under the Final (Old) course, need to undergo the remaining component, i.e. Advanced ICITSS(Adv. IT) or Advanced ICITSS(MCS). They do not need to undergo Advanced ICITSS (Advanced IT and MCS) in its entirety.

It is specified that the following is the position for distinct categories of students who are mandated to undergo Advanced ICITSS and pass the Advanced IT test thereunder, concerning their eligibility to appear in the Final examination.

Under the syllabus approved by the Council under Regulation 31(v) of the CA Regulations,1988, the final new examination is to be conducted.

Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills(Advanced ICITSS) – Advanced Information Technology Test (Under Regulation 29D(iii), 51E/72E of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988)

ICAI ICITSS 2024 Registrations Date and Timing

The exam date for the Advanced ICITSS (Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills) has been announced by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) i.e. the Advanced Information Technology Test which will be the Computer-based exam.

In what way the application form (PDF) should reach the institute? No requirement is there to submit any printout of the application form at the office of the Institute. However, you can keep the PDF copy for your records at least till the release of admit cards.

Admission to the Test

Until the candidate completes the course by 22nd May 2024 no admission is there and in case of admission, the results are likely to be withheld/cancelled.

Examination Fee Structure

A candidate applying for the test for the first time will not be required to pay the test fee. However, those who are applying for the test after that, i.e. from the second time onwards will be required to pay a test fee of Rs. 500/- online through the payment gateway. INR 850 for Kathmandu(Nepal) Centre. For Dubai Centre, the test fee will be USD $150.

Mode of Payment of Fee

The candidate also has to pay the test fee online. Physical applications will not be accepted. The fee must be paid while submitting the form. You do not have any option of late payment. The centre will also be not changed.

Only using Master/ Visa/ Maestro Credit/Debit Card or through net banking via Paytm, the exam fee should be remitted. For the first time, the fee is exempted, and candidates with permanent disabilities who kept the valid permanent concession card issued via the Institute. 

Examination Centres

The ICAI in a statement said “The computer-based test will be held at the following cities provided a sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear in the test, from the said cities. ICAI reserves the right to cancel the centre and allow the candidates to any centre/city other than the one he/she has opted for, in case the number of candidates who opt for appearing in that particular city/centre is not adequate”.

The Institute has the privilege to withdraw any centre and/or the Zone and/or transfer all or a part of the candidates of a zone to another zone at any phase for any reason. No change is authorized in any case, once a centre has been chosen.

  1. Candidates shall be needed to opt for any of the cities listed under Option-I and he or she shall be allotted to the city so chosen in Option-I, in the ordinary course.
  2. Selecting Option II is NOT obligatory. Candidates selecting Option-II may remark that if a sufficient number of candidates opt for option-II centre, then they will be allotted Option-II centre ONLY. Subsequently, no permission for the change of the centre will be given.

Eligibility

Candidates who have Completed the Advanced ICITSS- Advanced IT course on or before 22nd May 2024 are qualified to apply to appear in the said test. If you do not meet this eligibility criteria Please DO NOT apply. Any application that does not fulfil this criterion under the Board of Studies database will be summarily rejected without any communication

How to Issue Admit Cards for the Test

By 18th June 2024, the Admit Cards for the Test will be hosted on the same site i.e. https://advit.icaiexam.icai.org and candidates are asked to download it via the above-mentioned website and study all particulars, especially that the Registration Number and Name is appearing correctly. For the same concern, no separate email/SMS will be sent. No issuance of physical admit cards is there.

 Test Details 

An Objective Type MCQ-based examination of 100 marks having 100 questions of 1 mark each will be there. No negative marking is there. No reading time is there. Candidates must report to the centre by 9.15 A.M. (IST), Exam will start at 10.30 AM (IST). Late arrival of candidates will not be allowed. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall till the finish of the test.

 Eligibility of Passing the Test

Fee and Refund of fee

When a candidate applies for a test for the first time he/she shall not be needed to pay the test fee. Once the application has been made cannot be withdrawn under any situation and the candidate will not be permitted to claim for the fee exempted if his/her request for the withdrawal/rejection of his/her application.

If multiple online payments are obtained to the institute as of a systematic error and you do not obtain a refund within 20 days from the due date for application submission, you can claim a refund of the excess amount paid through you, by writing an email to us at advanceditt_examhelpline@icai.in within 30 days from the deadline for submission of forms, including documentary proof, like bank/credit card statement, of having paid the exam fees more than once. It will get verified under ICAI and refund the excess amount, if any, paid through you.

14. Candidates who have permanent disabilities Having a Valid Concession Card issued by Examination Dept. will be extended concessions as follows: Less than 50% disability- extra time of half an hour, 50% or more of disability-extra time of one hour. Assistance of the writer will be furnished if needed.

15. For any/all dispute(s) concerned with the Test conducted via the ICAI, the Courts at Delhi will have exclusive jurisdiction.

NOTE: In the case of delivering any false information/misrepresentation, the admission shall become invalid and no correspondence in this respect shall be entertained.

What is the method to fill out the online Application Form for the Advanced ICITSS test and make online payment of the Examination fee at https://advit.icaiexam.icai.org?

Step- 1 Login to the portal

The applicant will visit the website https://advit.icaiexam.icai.org, tap on APPlY FOR EXAM/LOGIN link on the home page, and enter his/her 10 digit Registration number validated by their Date Of Birth as per ICAI records. These details will be cross-checked with our database of candidates who have completed the course requirements by May 22, 2024, and the application form will be made available for filing.

If these details are not validated, the applicant will even enabled to apply to a provisional ground. If you encounter any problem in filling out the online application form for the test, please call the following Helpline Numbers or write to us at advanceditt_examhelpline@icai.in well in advance, at least one working day before the application deadline. Please DO NOT apply if you do not meet the eligibility criteria.

The applicant will fill in the information and upload the photograph & signatures. Uploading of photographs & signatures as jpeg/jpg files is obligatory. The size of the photo/signature must not exceed 50KB each. Please do not include dots in the name of files (eg. Incorrect naming A.P.Kumar.jpg, Correct naming APKumar.jpg) Tap here to know more about cropping of scanned files. (i.e. Photograph and Signature)

Scan the PHOTO/SIGNATURE and save as jpeg or jpg files ONLY for uploading. DO NOT CONVERT/ CHANGE THE EXTENSION OF THE FILES CREATED AS PNG / TIF / BMP. THIS WILL NOT GET UPLOADED.

Step – 2 Online Examination Fee Payment 

A candidate for filing the online examination application form needs to remit an applicable fee and applicable bank charges to appear in the test.

When a candidate applies for the test for the first time then he/she will not be needed to pay the test fee.

Only through the mode of online payment gateway with Visa/Master/Maestro Credit/Debit Card or through Internet banking via Paytm, the fee is to be remitted.

Step – 3 The candidates are suggested to verify the application status through the link “Check Application Status” provided above whether the application has been captured Successfully through the portal. Only the amount deduction from your account or saving the information through you is not directed for a successful application until the same is recorded as successful at the exam application portal. It has been recommended to the candidates to hold a printout of the barcode exam application form that is made at the finish of the procedure, for their records.
