ICAI Announces Application Dates & Fee for All CA Exams 2025

CA Foundation and CA Intermediate and Foundation exams will be carried out three times a year from this year. The ICAI has announced, raising the ICAI exam phases from two to three. The schedule for online exam form submissions for the May 2025 Chartered Accountancy (CA) Examinations has been announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Candidates appearing for Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exams should submit their applications through the ICAI’s online portal: eservices.icai.org.

The CA Final exam will continue to be held only thrice.  Under the official ICAI notification, “The Institute has decided that from May/June 2025 onwards, Intermediate & Foundation course Examinations will be held thrice in a year in May/June, September and January from the existing practice of twice a year and CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in May and November.”

The ICAI CA notification clarified the Foundation and Intermediate course exam requirements. To be eligible for the Foundation exam, students must be registered with the Board of Studies for at least four months before the exam month and meet the other criteria outlined in Regulation 25F. For the Intermediate exam, students must be registered with the Board of Studies and have completed a study course at least eight months before the exam month, in addition to meeting the other requirements in Regulation 28G.

Appear in CA Exam Form 2025

For candidates aspiring to appear in the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams, the CA Exam Form 2025 is a crucial step that has been carried out via the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). All eligible candidates must fill out the same form to register for the CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exams scheduled throughout the year.

Foundation Course:

• Candidate must be registered in the Foundation Course on or before 1st January 2025.
• Candidate is converted from CPT to Foundation as on the date of filling the exam form
• Candidate must have either

1. Appeared in the 12th Standard Board Exam from a recognized Board and his/her 12th Class Admit Card must be uploaded to SSP

OR

2. Passed 12thStandard from a recognized Board and his/her 12th Class Mark sheet must be uploaded in SSP

Intermediate Course

Eligibility criteria for the Intermediate Examination to be carried out in May 2025

The eligibility requirement is an 8-month study course on the first day of the month in which the examination is to be conducted ( May 1st, 2025) i.e. Registered on or before the Cut-off date, 1st September, 2024.

Final Course

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) releases the exam form for the CA Final exam typically 2-3 months before the exam date. Typically, ICAI Releases the CA Final Exam Form in the Following Months:

 • May session: The exam form is usually released in February or March. 

 • November Session: The exam form is usually released in August or September.

In the following months the CA Final exam would be conducted-

 • May Cycle: Exams are held in the first week of May 

 • November Cycle: Exams are held in the first week of November

Most Highlights of CA Exam Form 2025

Students applying for the CA exams would required to ensure that they have the correct login information for the self-service portal (SSP) and a valid course registration. If the registration has expired it is important to re-validate or convert on SSP, accessible at https://eservices.icai.org/.

CA Registration Validity-

• CA Final registration is valid for 5 years
• CA Intermediate registration is valid for 4 years
• CA Foundation registration is valid for 3 years

Revalidating for CA Exam Application:

Students can revalidate their course registration via the self-service portal if the registration period lapses. The revalidation fee differs-

• INR 500 for CA Final
• INR 400 for CA Intermediate
• INR 300 for the CA Foundation

Conversion Requirement:

For candidates registered under the Old Scheme, it is compulsory to convert on SSP, transitioning from CA Final Old Course to CA Final New Course, CA Intermediate (IPCE) to CA Intermediate. Rs 1,000 is the conversion fee, and for the shift from CA CPT to CA Foundation, it is Rs 500.

Step 2: Select your registration number from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Verify your identity using your course, SRN, and date of birth.

Step 4: After successful authentication, enter your email and registered mobile number.

Step 5: Log in via your registration number and password.

Step 6: Provide your residential address and other crucial details.

Step 8: Fill out the CA form and upload the mandated documents.

CA Exam Form 2025 Photo and Signature Particulars

Ensure your photo for the ICAI CA exam form satisfies these standards:

• Use a coloured or black/white photo with 80% of your face (without a face mask) visible, including ears, against a white background.
• Confirm a clear contrast in the image, and avoid wearing goggles, but spectacles are acceptable.
• It is crucial to have the background white and visible, and if using flash, prevent red-eye.
• Avoid wearing caps and masks, though religious headgear is permitted as long as it doesn’t cover your face.
• Submit your photo in jpg/jpeg format, with a file size between 20-50 KB.
• Must have a clear contrast of the image.
• Do not wear goggles and caps while taking a photo. However, they can wear spectacles.
• A straight-looking relaxed face should be there.
• No selfies are allowed
• The scanned Photo should be well cropped so that there are no extra/white spaces, and the image is stored as jpg/jpeg
• Take care that the photo as described above fits in the size 4.5 cm by 3.5cm.

For the signature:

• Sign on a white sheet with a black pen.
• The scanned signature must be cropped effectively, without extra/white spaces.
• The file size of the image must be between 10 To 20 KB (Clearly Visible Support)
• You should crop the scanned signature to remove any extra or white space, then save it as a jpg or jpeg
• Ensure the signature file is in jpg/jpeg format, with a size between 10-20 KB.

Guidelines to Fill CA Application Form 2025

• Firstly the candidates would be required to make a Login ID on the official ICAI website via a one-time registration. 
• After registration the candidates will have a username and password through email and the identical information will be sent via an SMS to the furnished phone number in the one-time registration. 
• After that, the candidates can log in via their username and password to access the ICAI CA application form. 
• The candidates need to furnish precise information and complete all the details needed, as there is no acceptance for the incomplete forms. 
• Using Visa/Master/Maestro Credit/Debit Card the application fee can be paid.
• The candidates on the successful payment should download the filled form and take a printout. Candidates can attach two recent passport-size photos (one attested and one non-attested) if the image upload is not visible on the printout.
• If the signature does not appear on the printout then the candidates must sign at the said places and obtain the same countersigned by a parent/guardian.
• Candidates should possess the ICAI CA application form attested by a Chartered Accountant, Gazetted Officer, or the Principal of their School/College.
• The candidates can update their photographs and signature on the SSP before submitting the exam form, with a form correction window available a day post-closure of form submission. 
• Due to documentation, for those with the pending articleship status, it is significant to update the status on the SSP before exam form filling. 
• CA Intermediate students encountering problems with their registration mode can submit a ticket in SSP to settle it before the application process starts.
