The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced, for general information, that due to certain unavoidable reasons, the Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination has been rescheduled across India and abroad.
ICAI CA Intermediate May 2026 Exam Dates Revised: The Chartered Accountants (CA) Intermediate May 2026 examinations have been rescheduled by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In its latest notice, the CA institute has revised the previous timetable announced in January.
As per the official notice, the revisions are applicable to the candidates appearing for the intermediate course exam at both Indian and overseas centres.
From the revised schedule, CA intermediate exams will now begin on May 5, 2026, instead of the earlier start date of May 3. As per the institute, exam timings will be the same as before, and all papers shall continue to be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm (IST).

From the revised schedule, CA intermediate exams will now begin from May 5, 2026, instead of the earlier start date of May 3. As per the institute, exam timings will be the same as before, and all papers shall continue to be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm (IST).
Both Group I and Group II papers of the Intermediate course will get affected from this rescheduling. However, as per the earlier released schedule, dates for other examinations – including CA Foundation, Final, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams, will not be changed.
In a relevant amendment, ICAI, as part of its revamp of the exam schedule, has scrapped the January examination cycle for CA Final candidates. Previously, the institute has rolled out multiple attempts in a year, however it has now returned to the twice- a-year exam cycle.
With the removal of the January attempt, CA Final exams are now held twice annually, in May and November.
