ICAI Medical Financial Assistance for COVID-19

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has issued 2.72 crores as Medical Financial Assistance to CAs in between the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are not that immune and resist the pandemic hurdles several members and students have already lost their lives or their closed ones said ICAI President CA Nihar Jambusaria. 

Also, he stated that the foundation of the functional community has been developed on mutual benevolence and social understanding. A policy of financial assistance towards the cure of covid-19 has been executed through ICAI from September 2020 onward. Since then Rs 2.72 cr is processed or released with a sum of 218 members for the cure of the disease.

“Considering the large number of requests being received related to Covid-19 cases, it has also been decided by the CABF to relax certain aspects of the procedure for grant of Medical Financial Assistance so that a greater number of our members affected due to pandemic could be accommodated”, he stated.

ICAI has urged the members to contribute to the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund to help us extending the maximum medical grants for the suffering members along with their dependents. Your contribution can give much-needed assistance in the current financial hurdles.
