ICAI FAQs for Provisional Admission

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has given Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQs ) for Provisional Admission to Foundation Course.

Let’s start with a very basic question’

Q1 I want to apply for the foundation course as I have passed class 10th and promoted in 11th, do I eligible for that?

Yes. Students who had passed class 10th exam which is done through the governing institute or any recognized body by Central Government or equal to the State Government may provisionally register in Foundation Course of ICAI.

Q2 Do I am liable for the foundation course as I am a student of class 12th?

Yes. Students who had passed class 10th exam which is done through the governing institute or any recognized body by Central Government or equal to the State Government may provisionally register in Foundation Course of ICAI. they are alerted to get enroll themselves by 1st Jan 2021 so as to get liable for arriving in May/June 2021 Foundation Examination.

Q3 When can I enroll for the foundation course as I want to become CA and currently I studied in class 12th?

1st day of Jan or 1st day of July is the date where you can enroll for the board of studies of the Institute for the exams which are going to conduct in May/June or November/December months. Prior to sitting in the foundation exam a 4 month study period is needed.

Q4 If I apply for the foundation course now do I able to sit in the foundation exams which are going to be ruled in May 2021, as I am a student of class 12th?

The eligibility to present for the foundation exam is stated below:

  • The candidates are urged to get enrolled with the board of studies of the students on or prior to the 1st day of January or the 1st day of July for the exams that are going to be conducted in May/June or November/December month. Prior to sitting in the foundation exam a 4 month study period is needed.
  • The students must have to sit in the senior secondary (10+2) exam which is to be initiated by the investigating council constitute by law or an exam recognized through the Central Government (or the State Government) as equal (for the purpose of admission to graduation course).

Q5 I will sit in the class 12th exam which is to be held in March/April 2021. For instance, I enroll and clear foundation exams for May 2021 however I am unable to clear the class 12 exam I want to ask that will my foundation result be authentic?

Your temporary admission to the Foundation course will be doen on the condition when you clear Class XII exams.

Q6 Does the foundation course and the syllabus is to be changed or not?

Students might perceive that there is no alteration in the Syllabus and enrollment Fee of the Foundation Course.

Q9 Are there any classes that are to be held by ICAI for the candidates to sit in the foundation exams?

For the foundation level, all the free classes are going to be held by ICAI. in context to that in detail, candidates might normally visit the Institute’s BOS Knowledge Portal for announcements.
