ICAI New Attractive CA Logo with Guidelines for Members

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the world’s largest professional accountancy body, has introduced the inaugural Global Professional Accountants Convention (GloPAC) at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, President, ICAI, and CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Vice-President, ICAI, were present, as was CA. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Singhal, Chairman, ICAI Public Relations Committee, and CA. (Dr.) Anjali Choksi, Chairperson, ICAI Ahmedabad Branch. The ICAI President addressed the media and provided insight into the extent and pertinence of GloPAC.

During this significant event, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, President of ICAI, highlighted, “We mark 75 years of trust, shining a spotlight on India’s role in the G20 alongside the African Union. With approximately 8.50 lakh students and nearly 4 lakh members, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering global partnerships. India’s ascent as a global hub, coupled with the momentum of the G20, underscores our commitment.” He also emphasized, “Our mission extends to every corner of India, aiming to spread the reach of the accounting profession.” Looking ahead, he shared ICAI’s vision for 2049, envisioning ICAI becoming carbon-neutral by its centenary in 2049. He urged members to think globally, act nobly, and champion local causes.

    In his address at the opening session, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Vice-President of ICAI, expressed, “Chartered accountants are currently contributing to the growth of the Indian economy in unprecedented ways. The convention’s theme, ‘Connecting the Globe, Creating Value,’ underscores our dedication to diversity and highlights the pivotal role the accounting profession plays in the country’s economic and social development. We anticipate that this inaugural GloPAC will set the stage for generating fresh ideas, innovations, and strategies to tackle global economic challenges, paving the way for a sustainable future.”

    This convention aims to set new benchmarks for international collaboration, providing a platform for in-depth discussions and insights into the evolving dynamics of the accounting profession. These discussions will further solidify ICAI’s position as a global leader in thought.

    Additionally, the event saw the unveiling of the new  ICAI CA logo. This logo embodies the profession’s steadfast commitment to contributing as a partner in the nation’s progress. Each element within the logo represents our profession’s unwavering dedication to excellence, transparency, and accountability.

    The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) revealed a new logo specifically designed for Chartered Accountants (CAs) engaged in the Global Professional Accountants Convention (GloPAC). By integrating the tricolour into CA India’s fresh emblem, it embodies the core values of unity, diversity, and sovereignty, a strong testament to the brand’s commitment to India’s advancement. The logo’s dynamic design subtly conveys motion, symbolizing a path toward progress and showcasing the Institute’s innovative mindset.

    The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has launched a fresh logo for its members, brimming with profound symbolism and mirroring a steadfast dedication to India’s progress. Here are the primary directives and attributes of the new CA India logo:

    The primary significance of the vibrant blue hue, drawn from the ICAI logo, stems from its association with divinity, immortality, courage, and resolute determination. As a representation of the boundless sky and ocean, blue holds deep roots in Indian culture, spanning over 5,000 years, rendering it a profoundly meaningful choice for the logo.

    Ensuring the new logo seamlessly fits digital and traditional mediums is pivotal for a contemporary brand. This flexibility maintains a uniform brand image, bolstering its recognition and trustworthiness. Additionally, it broadens accessibility for various stakeholders, such as members, students, and the public.

    Essentially, CA India’s fresh logo preserves its essence while strongly representing India. The incorporation of the tricolour, the symbolism behind the blue hue, and its adaptability across all platforms amalgamate to craft a visually appealing and culturally rich design. This design mirrors the Institute’s values and dedication to serving the nation.

    Guidelines for implementing the logo are provided to the Institute’s members, emphasizing the importance of honouring and upholding the integrity of the newly introduced logo.

    The logo comprises the letters CA in blue colour with a tri-colour tick mark (upside down) with a white background. The blue color does not render any background however indeed shows creativity, innovativeness, knowledge, integrity, trust, truth, stability, and depth. Chartered Accountants use an upside-down tick mark, which is been included to symbolize wisdom and professional value. 

    India has also added the logo since it displays the Institute’s connection to the India First approach and commitment to serving the Indian economy in the public interest.

    • Maintain the font exactly as it is, including colour, boldness, size, and spacing. Keep the dimensions unchanged.
    • Preserve the original design and colours, including the white background, without any modifications.
    • Avoid any rotation or tilting of the logo in either clockwise or anti-clockwise directions.
    • Ensure the logo retains its original proportions without being shrunk or distorted.
    • Members are advised to implement the new CA India Logo on various platforms such as letterheads, business cards, and websites. Additionally, a one-year grace period has been allotted for the replacement of existing stationery and signage.

    Separately, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) took legal action by sending a notice to a proprietor for allegedly using the old CA logo in a shoe brand.

    The CA Logo, inclusive of the letters ‘CA,’ is a registered trademark of the Institute (Registration no. 2147610). Any unauthorized use of this logo or its constituent letters constitutes trademark infringement, a punishable offence under the Trade Marks Act of 1999. It’s clarified that unauthorized usage of the CA Logo constitutes an offence outlined in the Trade Marks Act of 1999 pertaining to trademark infringement.
